The Diary of Anne Frank is a “tip-top” book for anyone who likes to read about family relationships, romance, or suspense.

This book is very well drawn out with many substantial details about her ways of life.  Learning those ways and how she lived is an incredible experience.  I felt like I was there, sitting at the kitchen table, listening to all of the arguments.  As I was reading, I could see and hear those arguments.  Literally the whole time I was reading this diary, I felt this way.

Anne Frank was Jewish, and of course she lived in the times when Adolf Hitler was ruining the lives of many, many Jews.  She lived in a hiding place, or the “Secret Annex”, with nearly twenty others.  It was remarkably  hard for her family.  They were undoubtedly very poor and rarely ever had an exceptional dinner.  The only times they ever had an incredible dinner was whenever there was a special occasion or holiday, such as Chanukkah (a jewish holiday LIKE Christmas).

This book is top-notch, but I would highly recommend it for teenagers.  Just so they could see how many things they really have in common with a Jewish girl from 1946.
